There are many different traditional technologies that have been made, some are even still in the classrooms. For example, some teachers still use overhead projectors. Mostly because they are very versatile and inexpensive. The purpose of the projector is to display transparencies that the teacher has made up, onto a screen, whiteboard, or classroom wall. The transparencies can be created specifically to target certain instructional objectives. Teachers can still use this in the classroom because of how simple it is to use the projector. Plus the students can use it because of how simple it is.
On the other hand a new emerging technology could be more helpful to teachers, the smart board. Granted it would be more expensive than the projector and it can only be position on the whiteboard. It can still use all the data on the teachers computer, making it easier to access information. Also the teacher wouldn't have to make any transparencies. The board is easy to access and students can do presentations on the board because of how simple it is, not needing to print anything out to make the transparency.

Chapter 6: Digital Technologies in the Classroom
Technology has changed our world whether for the better or for worse. Everywhere people go they see technology present. Even in classrooms now a days there are many examples. For instance, there are computers, smart boards, and ipads. Many teachers have converted to using technology in their classrooms to help make the learning process easier for the children. In my opinion using technology in the classroom would be easier, but only if the teacher has knowledge of how to use it. I'm not that great with technology so therefore I would have a problem with using technology in the classroom, I would have to learn all about it before I used it. So if I had a choice I would probably try my best to stay away from technology unless it was completely necessary to be using it.
